Sad post, new challenge

this is a sad post for me...this is my last post as a DT member of Smeared Ink
I'll try not to get all sappy on you but I do want you to know that Smeared Ink is run by some amazing ladies and a great team! they have become my best friends over the past year...well more than a year...I have been threw so much with these girls...they were one of the first people to know I was pregnant and then they helped me threw my pregnancy, Tori was one of the first people I texted on the way to the hospital :) and now my lil one has all these aunts some across the states and her favorite dragon aunt in the UK! wow ok I didn't mean to ramble, and I'll cry if I say any more...I'll just tell you these ladies are amazing and I'm so proud to call them my friends!

ok onto the challenge and my card
this challenge is a sketch! and here is my creationI used what may be my fave SI set...not positive they are all my fave...but this one is right now;)
the set is called Quoth the Raven, and I took Mr Poe and stamped him 6 times and cut him out with my spellbinders and rotated it and put it on pop up dots, I cut my raven out and did the same with him. the background paper was textured grey so I went over it with my black ink pad and made it a little darker (it can never be to dark)
well there you have it folks!
here is the sketch
and I would like to enter this card into the following challenges
Quoth the Raven Nevermore-a creation in Poe's image

~EDIT
this card won top 3!!!

Blog Hop

Welcome to the Smeared and Smudged Blog Hop!!!

the theme for this month's blog hop is "Pieces and Parts" Use at least two stamp or digi images combined to make a "new" image or focal point on your project.

and here is my creation

I took a girl from the Chicks dig guns set and the wings from Quoth the raven and made a new image...kinda an angel of death sort of feel....I used the mask technique to get the wings on her.

I colored her with colored pencils, the gun too...then I liquid glassed the gun to make it really stand out...I was inspired by a scene in the Rock N Rolla challenge this month...in the music video a cop drops something in the water and she is black and white and the water is blue...it was really cool! that and I loved making my grumpie card earlier this week I just had to try it again...and I didn't do to much else to this and I love how it turned out...it may become a wall hanging instead of a card...hmmm

now that you have heard me ramble...go check out what the rest of the members have for you...here is the hop list if you're lost...your next stop should be Heather

Grumpie Scream!

here is my latest grumpie card...its been so long since I have played with these guys!

I love this card! I embossed the "scream" from the "lonely boy and puff" Smeared Ink stamp set, and the patterned paper is a stamp from the "quoth the raven" set. The skulls are from Creepy Glowbugg...and ya...not much else was done to it...and I really like how it turned out...simple and scary! I really wanted him to stand out so I framed him in red so he could be entered into the Haunted Design House challenge this week "I was framed"

Varying Visages of Vincent

I love Vincent Price...I think he is amazing!
and this week over at the Haunted Design House they are celebrating him! how awesome is that?!?
I made this peice for my entry and chance to win some super cool goodies! it has taken me all week to think of something so fabulous now I'm in a rush because I have like 20 min to post this :S

I went online and got my favorite VP image and then I made a collage of images from movies he has been in...oh and the spider is because of "the black widow" intro he did for Alice Cooper.

all my stamps came from Smeared Ink...they are from Quoth the Raven, Holy City, and Killer BoPeep.
I just inked the edges and added some color to my main man's image and there I have it...I love how it turned out...I got the idea from snooping around in Black Dragon's lair...she is so inspiring!

thanks for taking a looksie...wish me luck :)
(I really want that stuffed pumpkin for my lil pumpkin that is due on Halloween)

YAY its finally here! Skull Appreciation day hop with Smeared and Smudged!!!

You should have come here from f you stumbled upon my blog and want to join in from the beginning, please start here. there are many prizes to be won.....if you want more info on skull appreciation day I have a button on my sidebar.

I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet-ish

I made two peices using the same skull stamp (from the Quoth The Raven Smeared Ink stamp set) both are bits of a cd I cut up and painted with acrylic paints

first one I stamped my skull and used a bunch of UTEE and then added some lightly painted feathers..I think this is going to be a pin...maybe a necklace...maybe a magnet...donno yet

and second is a necklace that I used shrinkydinks added some beads and there I go...necklace!

thanks for taking a look...now off you go to see Susan's blog...or go back to the beginning...whichever...but have fun and leave lots of love! have a skull-tastic day!

Mail Art Thursday

for my Thursday offering I bring you my first ever Mail Art...
I did this and sent them in to be displayed in their mail art exhibit....I wasn't quite sure on how to make mail art...but everything I read pretty much said to just do whatever...as long as it is the right size and not bulky....so here is what I did....

for this one I took acrylic paint and painted the top...then added a bunch of water and let it run down...I took an as death stamp and stamped it.

and this one is my fave! I took my side skull from the anatomy digi set printed it of and cut my paper to size...then I took some Vaseline and applied it to my skull...I then painted over the whole thing with bronze acrylic paint...let it dry then wiped off the Vaseline...I did have to scratch at it (just with my fingernails) because I didn't put enough Vaseline on but I just love the effect...I then took my quoth the raven stamps and added a bit more to it...

now I hope this gets you pumped and ready for the blog hop on the 4th...I know I can't wait! stop by the forum to sign up...you get to choose a really cool digi if you do :)
