final day of the Bloody hop

Today is the final day of the hop...I sure enjoyed it!! I have gotten so much inspiration!
and as my VD finally I give you two creations!

first my bomshell cardI used bombshell stamps and a senti and banner from tattered angels. I used my red stickles and markers. I followed the Bombshell sketch for this month.

and this second one is a digital creation with the QTR challenge in mind...
I found the Annabel Lee image on deviantart, the background paper came from susan's crafty chaos, and the elements came from various scrapbooking sites. and the digital senti and poem is my own...well the poem is by E.A. Poe, but I copied it and pasted it on the image.

Bombshell Hop

Today is the Bombshell Hup Day Hop!!!
and I'm super excited about this one...its on my favorite subjects...bomshells and movies!
the theme is "put me in the movies"
and here is my card

I used a car from the Speed Shop set and made it red with big yellow headlights like in the Stephen King movie Christine...I colored my car with pencils and made my background paper with red paper and black ink...I made the base and everything very dark (like the movie) and added my get well senti (unlike the movie) because this card is going to Ryan

If you haven't heard about Ryan yet you can go here to find out more...
Meredith is having a call for cards for Ryan...a friend that was in an accident and is currently in the hospital with a brain injury, and Meredith is asking that people send him cards to make him happy and hopefully help him recover...

now back to the hop....here is a list of all the great participants...be sure to leave lots of love!

Suspiria, oh the horror

here is a card I made for the "Oh the Horror" challenge
Oh the horror is where a horror movie is chosen, and you are to make a creation based on the movie or the movie poster.... and this month it is Suspriria
I told this movie to my hubby and he told me how much he liked it and knew I would like it too, so he bought if for me and....well he was right I loved it!
it is so gory and full of suspense, it was a great movie, and it has Joan Bennett in it and I love her! she was in Dark Shadows and that was the best show ever!

so now onto what I created

do ya love it or what?!? I took the movie cover from the DVD and cut it up, then I took my bombshell and wrapped her in wire (like the scene in the movie where she fell in the razer wire...so cool!) and then I took some more wire and made corner pieces and added some metal flowers I got from CTMH.

now be sure to go enter this or one of the other amazing Smeared and Smudged challenges this month for your chance to win a free SI image!!

I stamped her outfit and the background with the spiderweb from my Lonely boy and puff set, she is a bombshell and so is the lil devil sign, the ribbon I put some puff paint on and then colored a spiderweb white and added some black jewels....pretty simple but super cute! enjoy the rest of the hop and be sure to also check out the bombshell forum that is where I got my sketch from.

burlesque mermaid

Over at the Bombshell Stamps they had a few challenges, one was a sketch and the other was to make a card, layout, altered item, etc inspired by Burlesque. So I combined them!
this is what was said about Burlesque

By the 1880s, the genre had created some rules for defining itself:
* Minimal costuming, often focusing on the female form.
* Sexually suggestive dialogue, dance, plotlines and staging.
* Quick-witted humor laced with puns, but lacking complexity.
* Short routines or sketches with minimal plot cohesion across a show.

so I used a bunch of sparkles and bling, then used some "sexually suggestive dialogue" it says "you only wish you had fins like this!"

don't emboss without it!

ok I have to tell you about this awesome new product I found over at my new friend Stacie’s blog…she is so talented and has made an Embossing bag..I had no idea what this was and when I asked her about it she explained to me that it was something you rubbed on the paper before you stamped with versa mark…so I just had to try it and let me tell you what….I don’t know how I could have gone my whole embossing life without one of these…I used to get so light headed trying to blow off all those pesky flakes of embossing powder and I’d just get a project that would have to work….and now….wow! I have to admit I was a little skeptical about this…thinking oh how good could it be and after I tried it and got ready to blow away the flakes imagine my surprise when there weren’t any!!! Stacie wants to open her own etsy shop but you can buy them now for only $3 (plus shipping) compared to other brands that cost $7... so here is her link if you would like to contact her to purchase one of your own or one for a friend or both! you wont be sorry, here is a link to her blog...don’t you just love the cute fabric too….
here are some of the pics I made using it…it worked so well on black and white paper…
oh and here is another very well done comparison with Stacie's vs store bought
I will be posting more pictures using this so stay tuned

Bombshell Stamps

ok I have to talk about this really cool stamp company I found! its called Bombshell Stamps! and they have the cutest images! I was lucky enough to win this Mermaid Anchor stamp from the Smeared and Smudged, and because I'm so lucky I won the Bombshell June prize also!! so I have all sorts of new stuff to work with... and I will trust me...oh so cute!!
so here is my first Bombshell creation...I got the sketch from their July sketch challenge...I colored her with this watercolor technique I saw somewhere...sorry I don't remember where but what you do is rub your ink pad on some wax paper and spray it with water then paint your image...super easy and made it so cute! I put the sparkles on her tail for just an extra touch...I hope it all comes across in the picture well because it is so cool in person!
Thank you Smeared and Smudged!!!!
