Today I followed the sketch from the Unity be inspired challenge 

I stamped it on a book page and colored it with my watercolor crayons again, now this stamp actually has one more owl off to the side but I wanted this to be a thank you from my lil family so I cut him out and only used one owl for each member.

am I crazy or what? I just got done doing a project every day for the month of October for Smeared Ink's 31 days of Halloween, and now I'm the GIU girl for this week...no rest for the wicked I guess ;)

 

I'm so excited to be the Growing in Unity girl this week, I was told about this by a friend and ever sense I couldn't wait for my week to come!

 

I will be sharing my projects and artworks using Unity stamps from today till Friday!

this is it...the last day of the blog hop...phew I did it! so proud of me! it wasn't easy but Im glad I got to create every day! I also had fun looking at projects and getting new ideas! wow so many new ideas!

 

well for my final day I thought I'd go out with my favorite movie to watch around Halloween time

 

who didn't see this coming? I usually go to the midnight showing of this up north but since I have had kids it hasn't happened...maybe next year...its so fun to go to a live show of this, I even traveled to Califorina with my mom once just to see this show there...such a good time!

Sunday was a busy day! I got a calling in my church, and my babies got bless so I had a bunch of family over at my house therefore I was up the night before stressing, and cleaning...soooo tired! but so blessed I'm way happy with how the day went!

anywho  I didn't get a page done today but I will get my book finished and share the pages even after Halloween...

today I'm sharing with you my day planner...I got it for work so I could keep track of my crazy life! And I love it! I actually get allot of complements on it and that totally rocks!

I used the Hallocuties Pet Bats image from Smeared Ink and a senti from the grumpies set. and then just different paints and some crackle paint...its so fun and I love it!

since I'm actually making this post the night before you see it...it is still my little ones birthday, and with her fast asleep we thought on what movie to watch and what better show than where we got her name (Millicent - Barnabas' cousin in the original Gothic Soap series.)

however instead of taking 15 years to watch the soap we just watched the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp Dark Shadows! and I created this...

ahh October 25th three years ago today I was being sliced open and a tiny person was taken from my belly...and I couldn't wait to share her with my friends on the 31 days of Halloween hop! now look at me...3 years later still hopping :) 

 

Today I'm giving you two projects...because my movie page isn't really scary or Halloween-ish...unless you have seen the movie or the movie cover.

 

see...kinda looks innocent and weird, but hey it makes sense in my head! the girl is from Rick St Dennis and the tree is from tattered florals.

 

so here is project #2 a little memory game I made for my big girl out of baby wipe "doors" and Smeared Ink stamps...I'm planning on switching these out and putting something behind them for each season, or just whatever I think of at the time :)

this page is actually for 2 movies...we watched the 1949 cartoon The Legand of Sleepy Hollow and the Tim Burton Sleepy Hollow (the second was after the kids fell asleep)  so this page is kinda a collage of both...I like it though!

I just re-created the movie poster...its all done with acrylic paints...and then the title is stamped with some lil 1$ alpha stamp I got from Walmart...I think.

today I watched a classic TV show that I love so SO much! and if you have been following me long you know I love this show because I have the exact same necklace as the leading lady!!!

Wahoo Lilly Munster! isn't she the best? this stamp is from Simply Betty stamps, and I'm so glad I got to use her, the background was way fun to make...starting with black and then adding the white in different ways...such fun!

Today is my anniversary, in 2008 I married my best friend and the greatest man ever...bla bla bla mushy mushy lovie dovie...just believe me he is the greatest and I love him!

he is so into zombies, and all this horror stuff with me.

 our first date was to a scary movie, and our honey moon was spent in a haunted room...it is said to be haunted by the ghost of the country rock singer and ex Byrds member Gram Parsons (where we got the name for our son) you pay a little more to stay in this haunted room, it is where he died back in 1973, and there is such a different feeling there...not creepy, more of a peaceful feeling.

 I'm sure you are not here to hear about my gushy love story but to see the awesome zombie card I made for my husband.

Today's page is based off of the MST3K Werewolf 

 

if you don't know what MST3K is it stands for Mystery Science Theater 3000, it was a television comedy series from the late 90's...the guys at the bottom are forced to watch B-movies and they talk during the whole movie, making jokes and making fun of the movie's flaws and it just makes these old movies so funny! This one was about the movie Werewolf...so funny, but it was suppose to be a horror movie...I donno but I just love it....have you guys seen any MST3K? whats your fave?

So my werewolf image came from Smeared Ink's digi set "part of the pack"

ITS HERE! 31 days of Halloween 2014 and its going to be bigger and badder than ever!
thats right I said badder...its a word!

ok so there is allot to see so I'll keep the chit chat to a minimum this month, but if you have any questions please ask!

each year me and my husband watch a scary movie every night of the month, so I'm going to try to combine that with my wicked blog...I'm going to make a book of art journal pages for each movie I watch!
we started last night (we just couldn't wait) and we watched Race with the Devil (I know he is old for me but I think Peter Fonda is hot!) so here is my page.

 the tree was way fun! and the words are all stamped.

I also made a digital scrapbook page with some Smeared Ink images and papers.

Favorite Mistake

I created this journal page today while thinking of my snoozing 3 yr old...she is such a joy in my life and I'm so glad that she likes to be crafty with me!

I created this page with a seahorse that she had altered for me, the horse is from Smeared Ink. and I got him all colored up and set him down to go get my scissors so I could cut him out and while I was gone she took him and added some color, I was a little upset because it had taken me a while to color with the shading and all, I didn't really yell at her just kinda said "Millie that was mom's, your not suppose to color mom's pictures just your own" and she said "oops sorry mom" melted my heart! so I gave her some of her own pictures and went and colored me a new sea horse and kept this one as a reminder that she loves to help, and when I thought it was a mistake, it ended up being an awesome journal page!

PS this happened back when I made these canvases...and ya used the same colors and stuff

Smeared Ink sponsors all sorts of challenges, and one that was sponsored last month was the Dog Days of Summer challenge at Crafting by Design, being on the Smeared Ink DT I got to make a project for them!

I used an image from the rubber set Winged Things, I had fun making the background out of paint and then colored my image and added glitter to her wings, used the quote from the stamp set, popped my girl up on dots, and tied it all up with a bow!

I'm so excited for fall and all the colors, and it was so great when Smeared Ink announced the rubber stamp set for this month "Autumn's Blessing"! I had so much playing with it!

I colored my crow with markers then I zentangled the rest of the card! it was so relaxing and fun!

I got to give it to angiesuez and she said she likes it...and I hope she does! I had so much fun making it...with all the chalkboard stuff going around I thought I'd make it look kinda like that...with the mushrooms on the front and spiders on the back (stamps from the Killer bo peep set) I also made a bunch of little tags to go inside that she can write on or put little pics or whatever!
