I have something to share with you today...its something very different than I have ever done...but I loved it so I'm going to do it again!
its an altered bottle! I really like how it turned out...and I took a ton of pics but none of them do it justice!
ok so what I did was, I took an old bottle, and covered it with modeling paste then I glued and stuck some seashells to it, and then I took a stamp from Smeared Ink's Quoth the raven set and stamped some texture on the non seashell sides wrapped the bottom with some strung up seashells...then I took it out and spray panted it black (I wasn't about to go to all that with a brush) then I took my lil girl stamp (
Rachel Anderson's Angelic from
Sweet Pea stamps) and stamped her and some sand dollars (mark's fines papers) in white paint on some black shrinky dinks then I got my bottle and went over it with some silver and bronze paint, dipped my shrunk angelic image in some sand and tied it off with some twine and some black chains and more seashells. and I think thats it... like I said it looks so cool in person!
the thought and major push behind this was the challenge over at
Quoth the Raven (yes I started this about 3 weeks ago..honestly I took it out to paint it and forgot about it) the challenge is the Dream within a Dream Poem by the great EA Poe!
I would like to enter this bottle in the following challenges:
also...I have a friend that
is having an online Scentsy party and a percentage of all the proceeds
will go towards Betty to help her son that was diagnosed with throat
cancer last October (he was only 17 at that time) so young and I'm sure
it has been a major battle but he sounds like a very strong and great
kid, so here is a link to Tori's Scentsy party if you would like to help out...I know I just gotta get my hands on some of that lotion! and here is a link to Tori's Blog post about her party if you wanna check it out.
Or if cooking is more your thing my friend Alison is having a Papered Chef party for Betty just follow this link and click “shop online,” and enter “Betty Roberts” in the boxes...here is a link to
Alison's blog for even more details on that.
