Spoon necklace

Monday again :( but like every other Monday before there is another Smudy Antics Challenge beginning YAY!!!

This fortnight the challenge is simply METAL, thats it...just use metal somewhere in your project and your good!

here is what I created

I made my whole project metal....I saw on pintrest somewhere someone was making metal spoon neclaces and I thought...I could do that...so I printed my gear heart wings image from Smeared Ink colored it a little and added some glitter to the wings and glued it in the spoon. I added a few drops of alcohol ink to color the spoon a bit, then I added a bunch of gears and watch parts to the bottom of the spoon and covered the whole thing in liquid glass...I love how it turned out.
then I decided this necklace needs a home...so I go an old necklace box and covered it with duct tape then I took some gold paint and a rag and went over the duct tape to kinda get the edges to color a little, then I stamped images from the Urban Decay stamp set from smeared ink in stayzon ink and ya there it is!

Octipode halloween in July

today I have an art journal page to share with you.

there is a challenge over at the Octipode Factory and it is Halloween in July...with a challenge like that how could I not play along?!?

 

so I took my Morticia Addams image and colored her up, then I went crazy on a packground with paint and stamps from Smered Ink's Quoth the Raven set....I can't even explain what I did it was just messy fun....then I took some black Alcohol ink and splattered it on my page (mostly to see what it would do...and it was way cool!) then I stamped out my senti (with CTMH stamps) and glued everything down...added some teenie tiny bats and there I have it...

oh did you notice there is glitter on her dress...cool huh?

oh ya and I wanted to show everyone my super cute new necklace! Alison made it for me here is the link to her shop if you want to check out what else she has.

isn't it cute? I picked out the "eggs" for my lil nest for me (beige) my husband (dark blueish) and my lil one (light blue) and ya thats my little GIRL in batman pjs...she loves them and runs around the house like crazy...lol she's nuts!

and can I just say...this is very well made! and I'm not just saying that because me and Alison are friends...but really it is!

Chris Isaak go walking down there

today is the midway reminder for Chris Isaak's music video challenge over at the Musically Challenged blog, and I have had this created for the past week but I wanted to save it for today so I could remind everyone how fun this video is to create something for...here is my creation

I made a fat page and I used 4 of SSD's images (I just love them) I took my "Chris Isaak" (he is actually that guy from Twilight) and I put him kinda outside where all the girls are hanging out and being happy (the girls are Roller girl, lingerie Lindsay, and sassy in the city Miranda) I colored everything with pencils, and for the guy's background I stamped my Smeared Ink Quoth the Raven background stamp. The girl's background is from some pink floral tissue paper that was in a gift to my lil one and I just crumpled that up and glued it down then added some bling flowers and my quote from the song....this was a blast to make, and it came together so quickly...don't you just love when that happens?!?

into the wild

Monday again :( buuttt its not all bad...today is the first day of the new challenge at Smudgy Antics!
This time the challenge is "into the wild" fun huh? and so many ideas...we were all talking about what images we could use and the list seemed to be endless!
I finally decided on an image and here is what I came up with

 isn't it fun! I wanted to do a new card fold so I went to Splitcoaststampers and found a tutorial called "Bendi Fold" so I printed out my smeared Ink tattoo fairy with the zebra wings (I figured the fairy was wild and the wings were too...double points) I found this background image at the Fantasy backgrounds store I printed it out and then cut up my card painted the outer bits and stamped some mushrooms from the killer bo peep set and colored them up and stuck my fairy on one of them (after coloring her and glittering up her wings of course) distressed my edges and I'm done...so much fun to create!

Killer BoPeep X 2

its getting to the end of the month...this means crunch time :) I always have things half created and then forget about them until its deadline time....
so today I have an ATC to share with you...here she is

 so I got this Killer BoPeep from the Smeared and Smudged Freaky Freebie challenge...where we are all given an image and we get to create something with it for the challenge....I have this set in rubber (where the senti came from) but having her in digi is awesome because now she is the right size for an ATC...for my background I ripped up some masking tape and put it all over my paper...then I painted it purple, then I stamped some sheep heads allover (again killer bopeep rubber stamp set) and then I stamped out my senti and cut it up and put it on there and then my image...easy peasy...

so here is the story with my image...I colored her then I lost her so I printed out another image (bigger this time...different idea) then my lil one got a hold of the new printed image so I put it aside for a while...then I was cleaning her room and found my first printed colored image...so I finished my card and continued to let lil one play with the image she stole and this is what she created...

isn't she so artistic?!?!

Peek a boo geisha

Happy Hump Day!!! today is the Bombshell Hump Day hop brought to you by the bombshells and their lovely hostess Alison! for the theme this month we got to use "Textures and Layers!"here is what I have created

 

I used the  "Peek-A-Boo Geisha" she is a digi image and I printed her out and then used another stamp I had for her umbrella (like I needed another design she comes with two super cute options...I mostly did it just to see if it would fit...you know me I have to be different)  so I colored my geisha and her umbrella, then I made an embossed circle with swirls in it and made them a blue/teal color...made some background paper with my big ginko leaf stamp...then I made some lil circles with Japanese writing on them...typed up my Happy B-day senti in some Asian looking font. and added more colors and layers some pink brads, and I just love how it turned out! oh and I followed the bombshell sketch for this month! I love sketches and there's nothing like two birds with one stone :)

Musically Challenged #3

Saturday was the start of a new challenge over at Musically Challenged and the music video this time is a long one...its Alice Cooper's Along Came a spider...its a small movie I guess...its 3 songs.

this is what I created

 I went crazy with paint...I put down some tan and some blue and some grey then went over it with stencils in black and splattered some red then wrote "what I want, what I need" all over in light colored markers then wrote it again big in white.

Rick St Dennis MFA is our sponsor and he let us work with an image and I chose "art will set us free" and I added shading to her straight jacket and I had fun coloring her hair then I added some glitter to it (everything needs a bit of glitter) and I did a bit of a white wash before I added her to my journal....this was so much fun to create and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Dripping at Smudgy Antics

Its Monday grrr... well there is something good about today, its the beginning of a new challenge at Smudgy Antics!!! This fortnight the challenge is dripping!!! here is what I came up with

 I made this out of paper and cereal boxes (cereal boxes is the junk funk of June at Smeared and Smudged) I had so much fun creating...for the big one I painted it purple then took my circle background stamp from candy is dandy and stamped all over then added some silver swirls and then some blue glitter swirls then glittered up my butterfly from the specimen jars set and glued that on and added a bunch of antennae and added a jeweled border I picked up somewhere. then I added my red dripping from melting a crayon :)

Then I created another (because it was so much fun) I just printed out the Venice Mask Wall and added some green glitter then my dripping crayon again...these were so fun to make! I was inspired to make them because of the June GDT challenge over at Smeared and Smudged which is Masks that and I just watched Masque of the red death again...love that Vincent Price!

Just Like a Pill

Monday was the beginning of a new challenge over at Musically Challenged!

I decided to make a get well soon card :) I thought I was being clever :) I colored my image (muse4) with pencils then used a paper nib and some paint thinner to blend....I took some lil red jewel things and painted them to look like pills and added some gauze and some crinkle black paper and black paint just all sorts of messy goodness :) in all honesty I forgot to stamp my card with my get well soon stamp so I had to type that but the real stamp looks allot like that :)

Its finally here! Happy Skull Appreciation Day!!! 

today Smeared and Smudged is having a rather large blog hop...full of amazing arts and talents! so I'll try to make this short and sweet so you can get around to all the participants....the list is at the end of this post...eeee have fun I know I will.

So for my offering today I have an altered box to share with you

I took my white box and painted some texture paste on it (thinned down) then I went over that with some purple shimmery paint, then over that with black and while the black was still wet I stamped my fence stamp from Quoth the Raven from Smered Ink all over (dry stamp, just to pick up the black) then I wrapped the top of the box with some purple trim, then I made my cameo with some molds I had ordered from Etsy and painted them black and took some silver rub n buff to them to bring out the details..added some pearl thingies and there it is I just love how it turned out…oh and with the bottom I did the texture stuff then silver for contrast.

birthday texture

its Monday! time for a new challenge over at Smudgy Antics...the theme this time is TEXTURE and lots of it! here is my offering

I made a birthday card with the master Poe and his lil raven...he is stamped and lightly colored and his lil raven friend is a digi all from the quoth the raven set...Poe's b-day hat is from the occasions grumpies set and the ravens is from somewhere online and added some red sparkle to it....the background paper was made by me...I painted white paper mostly red and then stamped my wood background stamp (from Smeared Ink's "Urban Decay") with black paint I then took some modeling paste and went over a circle mask, then added some towards the bottom and stamped Happy Birthday in it. I took some paper and ran it through my embossing machine and stuck mr Poe and his bird to that added some red thingies in the corners and there it is...I had so much fun adding texture to this! oh and I followed the new sketch on Smeared and Smudged created by Anna.

today I have an art journal page to share with you...inspired by the Rock N Rolla challenge over at Smeared and Smudged...someone picked an awesome music video by Tom Petty, don't come around here no more...I love that video its so fun...now who is the awesome, smart, gorgeous person that picked that? oh ya it was me :) well since I picked it I guess I better play along :) here is my page

I had a blast making this...so to start off I gesso'd my page with white then I took some tea (thinking of the AIW tea party) and sprinkled it all over my page and got it super wet then let it dry...this made my page all tea died and spotty...I then took the same tea and brushed it into a cup and added a bit of water and dripped it down the page...then I wanted more drips so I took black paint and put allot up top and dripped it down the page and it didn't dry fast enough so I took my heat gun to it and this caused some awesome texture, I did some black masking, colored my Mad Hatter image and glued it on modge podged the whole thing, added my die cut words and doodled over them...wrote some more lyrics to the song and added my swirl from the circus procession set and I think that's it...fun fun fun

Tooth and Claw

I got to participate in the Smeared and Smudged DT throwdown again...incase you don't know what that is...its where Design Teams get together and compete against eachother and the team with the most votes wins! any DT can join here is the link if your interested LINK

and this time the theme was Tooth and Claw so I created this

with my zipper "teeth" and the claws of my Cockatrice I think it fits the challenge very well. my image came from Smeared Ink and I took my bottle and added some modeling paste, then painted it all the colors of my cockatrice and put it all together added more paint and tied it up with a lil ribbon and added some feathers dangling on it...I really like how this turned out...altering bottles is so much fun for me!

I'm so excited my challenge blog is finally up and running...Today is the first challenge of MusicallyChallenged and the video is Jaded by Aerosmith
for the challenge you just have to be inspired by the video...the images the lyrics anything...and you can create anything...alter something, create a card, scrapbook page, necklace, anything so open and free I love it!

here is what I have created

I finally finished the cover of my art journal...its just a composition note book and I covered it, and misted it then added some modeling paste through a circle screen added some yellow paint, went around the edges with brown paint added my circus people...the two trapeze people, the diver, a clown and my elephant then I typed some words from the video added some mesh and then made some beads and added them to the side and there I have it...yay I'm so happy! be sure to check out the other girls have created! and please join in the fun...so much inspiration in this video!

Feather or fur

Over at Smudgy Antics We want to see feathers or fur or a combination of the two. I went with feathers and the whole feathers theme and made a lil steam punk bird house

 isn't it cute? I painted it black then added some copper, added some different things for texture and my digi from smeared ink's Heavy metal set (transferred it using a technique I saw on the Smeared and Smudged forum from Shell) I then added more paint and some more cogs/gears and then I added my feathers dagling right there front and center...with a lil key....

last day Digi sale

today I have two simple dominoes to share with you....just to remind you that there is only one more day for the big sale at Smeared Ink..then these Digis will be gone forever.

this one is made with pink sharpies and a dream stamp I got from....somewhere and the heart wings stamp from the heart wings digi set...I used some sparkles on the heart and liquid glassed the whole thing

this one is my man Poe I used him and the Nevermore senti from the quoth the raven digi set and the lil red raven is from the holy city stamp set and the background is green alcohol ink.

but see you cant make dominoes with rubber they aren't small enough but with digis you can resize...think of the possibilities....here is a link to the store you know you want some ;)

today I created a card for your viewing pleasure

I have been seeing all sorts of clean and simple cards so I thought I'd give it a go and created this with an image from Smeared Ink's wonderland set! I made this lil belated birthday card. I colored my image in pencils added some glitter and liquid glass to the clock, and typed up my senti and went around all the borders with different colors! it was way fun and I think its kinda cool how it turned out...not my usual but still cool.

Specimen jar Box

this week at Smudgy Antics we want to see your Altered Boxes!!!!

"You may use any type of box.  The box can be big or small, cardboard or wood, or even plastic.  The shape can be creative as well.  Do you have any leftover heart shaped boxes from Valentine's Day?  If so, you may be a hoarder, but you will have a cool box to work with!"

 here is my creation:

I took an altoids tin and painted it brown then added some modeling paste and panted that copper and then added some gold highlights  then I colored up my man from the Specimen Jar set at Smeared Ink and I added him to my box and covered it with butterflies and swirls....I had allot of fun with this just filling it up with butterflys...now what to go in it....a butterfly neclace perhaps...hmmmm

King Friday the 13th

 today I have an art journal page to share with you

 ya my daughter has been watching allot of Mr. Roger's and when I saw this Cole stamp at Smeared Ink I thought...hey he kinda looks like King Friday...so I made a page inspired by that :) I used some mesh tape I found in DH's stash :) I painted the page brown then put that tape down and added some blue paint...then I added my image and words and birds (kind friday had pet birds) then I went over the whole thing with some bee's wax and some gold paint and some glitter...I just had fun with it...and it was I was giggling the whole time...I love my creepy king :)

Freaky Freebie

today I have a fun card to share with you!

this is Froggie Fae and he is from Smeared Ink and he is the Freaky Freebie over at Smeared and Smudged. I created this lil birthday card with him I colored him up with pencils and added glitter to his wings and the background...that was created with a paint spinner it was so much fun I felt like a kid again :)

Throwdown #4

I got to participate in the DT Throwdown over at the Smeared and Smudged forum for the first time today!  The theme was Leather and Lace
and this is what I created

its a lil canvas plaque with the girl from the FemDom set from Smeared ink...I printed her out and added a bit of color and some liquid glass to her outfit...then distressed the background...then I stuck her on the canvas and added some lace and other bits and bobs bottle caps, pearls, buttons, safety pins...then painted over it all with grey...this was really fun and I got the idea from the Mixed Media section on Smeared and Smudged a class ran by Shell here. so much fun to do...I'm really liking playing with these canvases :)

Bombshell hop

Welcome to the Bombshell Hump Day Hop....this month's theme was a color challenge and so I went digital

I used my new peekaboo digi stamp and colored her up and got some digi papers and embellies and created this card...I took the colors right from the sample so I know they match :) this was really fun to make and that geisha is so freakin cute I love her! I can't wait to create again :)

glitter and gore and news

Today I have a canvas to share with you....I created it for the new challenge over at Smudgy Antics where there is a big announcement!!! I have been asked to come back to the DT!!!! wahooo!!! so happy when I got that email! this is such a great team and such a talented group I'm so happy to be a part of it!

so onto my peice! I used one of the girls from the broken and bleeding set

Isn't she awesome?!? I just love the way this turned out...so glad when it turns out like whats in my head!

so I took my girl and colored her with pencils and her butterflies, then I added liquid glass to her eyes and bloody tears...and glitter to the flowers in her hair and the butterfly heart...then I diecut my words and painted them red and added glitter took my canvas and added some modeling paste, used some masks and then painted it black glued my words, then took a red crayon and heated it and made it all drippy...super cool huh?!?!? here is a more close up and you can see that there really is glitter there...bummer the camera didn't make it show up better...love this in real life....and it was so fun to make.

Dirty spring steampunk

 today I have something Dirty to share with you....now get your mind out of the gutter its not that kind of dirty...its dirty vintage, but thats a good idea I'll have to create something dirty next :)

Today is the April Member Blog hop for Smeared n Smudged and the theme is Dirty Vintage so I created this!

he is one of the steampunk images from Simply Betty, I colored him with pencils then I stamped the gears and watches on the green paper and distressed the background made it look really dirty and added some lace but it was to girly so I burned one side of it and now I really like it!
