Cards, Cards, Cards

here are a few new ones I made today...one for a bloggin' buddy's wedding (it was also for a challenge here) I used the Skipping Stones sketch,
This one is that awesome Cowboy stamp from Stamp it crazy...I love this one, and the sketch is from Midnight Madness (again...I just love these sketches)
and then for the Burtonesque Dolls the inspiration was the movie Big fish...and I took this from the movie cover....(this was actually really hard for me to think of something)

don't emboss without it!

ok I have to tell you about this awesome new product I found over at my new friend Stacie’s blog…she is so talented and has made an Embossing bag..I had no idea what this was and when I asked her about it she explained to me that it was something you rubbed on the paper before you stamped with versa mark…so I just had to try it and let me tell you what….I don’t know how I could have gone my whole embossing life without one of these…I used to get so light headed trying to blow off all those pesky flakes of embossing powder and I’d just get a project that would have to work….and now….wow! I have to admit I was a little skeptical about this…thinking oh how good could it be and after I tried it and got ready to blow away the flakes imagine my surprise when there weren’t any!!! Stacie wants to open her own etsy shop but you can buy them now for only $3 (plus shipping) compared to other brands that cost $7... so here is her link if you would like to contact her to purchase one of your own or one for a friend or both! you wont be sorry, here is a link to her blog...don’t you just love the cute fabric too….
here are some of the pics I made using it…it worked so well on black and white paper…
oh and here is another very well done comparison with Stacie's vs store bought
I will be posting more pictures using this so stay tuned

Bombshell Stamps

ok I have to talk about this really cool stamp company I found! its called Bombshell Stamps! and they have the cutest images! I was lucky enough to win this Mermaid Anchor stamp from the Smeared and Smudged, and because I'm so lucky I won the Bombshell June prize also!! so I have all sorts of new stuff to work with... and I will trust me...oh so cute!!
so here is my first Bombshell creation...I got the sketch from their July sketch challenge...I colored her with this watercolor technique I saw somewhere...sorry I don't remember where but what you do is rub your ink pad on some wax paper and spray it with water then paint your image...super easy and made it so cute! I put the sparkles on her tail for just an extra touch...I hope it all comes across in the picture well because it is so cool in person!
Thank you Smeared and Smudged!!!!

Tuesday Tribute to Gary Oldman

I would just like to make a quick post about an amazing actor! His name is Gary Oldman and he is so wonderful (there is something really cute about him too...) I just watched The Book of Eli and can I tell you how good that movie is? OMG I loved it! So worth the purchase! Gary is in this movie and he did such an amazing job (as he does in every movie) but you wouldn’t really recognize him…although you have probably seen him in many movies…he can just transform so well not only his looks but his acting…he just gets so into it! Here are some pics I found on the web from some great movies… you’ll see what I mean… This is him in the book of Eli

Buford Dill (Nobody's Baby) & Mason Verger (Hannibal)

Sirius Black (Harry Potter) & Sid Vicious (Sid and Nancy)

Stansfield (The Professional) & Zorg (The Fifth Element)

Lee Harvey Oswald (JFK) & Ludwig Van Beethoven (Immortal Beloved)

Jim Gordon (Batman) & Drexl Spivey (True Romance)

And the ever so wonderful Dracula! by far his best!!!

*-*-*-*-*-**I love this movie**-*-*-*-*-*

I made this one for the Burtonesque Doll's challenge
the challenge was to add a Burton Boy to your project...so I chose Zero (the nightmare before Christmas) his lil nose is even red:)...before he died of course...or I guess it could be Scraps (corpse bride) before he died. either way the puppies seem to always be my favorite!
I also got the sketch from Skipping Stones Design.
the second card I'm entering into the Oh, Alice challenge...the challenge was to use Red, White and Blue. so this is what I did and I absolutely love it!
I got the dog stamp at Close To My Heart (links on the sidebar) and the cowboys are from Stamp it crazy.
