Smeared Ink DT hop
Welcome to the February DT member blog hop...the theme this month is Redrum so of course my mind went to Stephen King's The Shining, and the creepy lil boy that wrote that on the door...so thinking of that lil boy (Danny) made me of course think of the parts I thought were the creepiest and that was the parts with the twins...
I decided to go digital for my project!
I used the Melina Goth Fairies...and just duplicated her into the creepy twins from The Shining...everything was colored in GIMP and then combined in My Memories Suite...the background paper is from Smeared Ink's Slasher paper set. Then I typed all my words and arranged them and I think it gives off a really creepy vibe...just like the show :)

Wisdom
Today I would like to share another journal page with you! this one is using one of Smeared Ink's new owl images...I love owls!!!
Isn't he the cutest? the background was made mostly with my Gelli plate, I added some more paint to the edges and then some stamps from Quoth the raven (also Smeared Ink) and then I stamped the word Wisdom...Owls are always looked at as wise creatures :) I'm thinking I'm going to add some actual journaling of my own to this about some wisdom I have learned from my Mother inlaw and if I do I may share it...depending on how personal I get :)
thanks for taking a peek! have an awesome week!!!

eight arms to hold you
today is day 7, the final day of Kickstart your art over at the Smeared and Smudged blog...
and today's challenge is Easy Water Blotting Background!
so I used one of the new images from the Octopus Pie set.
the lil octopus guys at the bottom are from Stampotique, and the quote is from The Beatles I went over my background with distress ink...then I smeared some more distress ink on top of that in different colors, I took some bubble wrap and got it wet and put it on top then blotted it, then I let it dripp from the top and then blotted that too and there I have my page...I really like how it turned out...I'm so happy with my Art Journal right now I really enjoyed this week of challenges...it has forced me to be creative and I really needed it!short story...I asked my husband for an octopus quote and he said "eight arms to hold you" and I was like whats that from? and he said it was the alternate title for The Beatles' movie Help...so there you have it!
have an awesome week everyone!

Texturizing the Cure
today is day 6 of Kickstart your art over at the Smeared and Smudged blog...
and today's challenge is TEXTURE!
I combined it with my Musically Challenged challenge which is to be inspired by gothic music...either a song, or a music video...and when I thought of goth (and when I asked my husband) I thought of The Cure and the song Burn...so here is what I created...
my image is from Sweet Pea Stamps...Ching Chou Kuik's Fall Woods...and I colored her up with pencils, then glued her to my page, and wrote my lyrics on a baby wipe I cleaned up black paint with a while ago, it says "Every night I call your name, Every night I burn, Every night I fall again." I glued a piece of tissue paper over an already painted background, then added some black crackle paint on top of that.
I hope you have a chance to join us this time over at Musically Challenged, and get a chance to win some Sweet Pea goodies for yourself! And if your really into challenges and music you can email me about joining our DT!

FEB 1ST NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP
Welcome to the Smeared Ink new release blog hop! I'm so excited about these images...they are so much fun! I worked with one of the Keepers and a senti...
I made this and I think I'm going to give it to my husband for V-day I don't know maybe I'll keep it for myself! I colored the girl in black and white and then made the hearts red and the heart with wings sparkly, and put it on some sparkly heart black paper. Simple but I soooo love it!
be sure to leave lots of love...I can't wait to get to this hop...so excited for these images!

Tiger mail
today is day 5 of Kickstart your art over at the Smeared and Smudged blog...
and today's challenge is SCRAP BACKGROUND!
So I combined it with the Junk Funk challenge over at Smeared and Smudged and used some packaging too...I think this was all off the same mail I received a while back.
I think it was something I ordered off ebay but it had some Asian writing on it and I'm glad I could finally put it to use!
I forget where the tiger stamp and the paws come from, but the red Japanese writing stamp came from Blockheads stamps, and the quote "Patience-One must be patient to be able to see all nature's gifts" came from Mark's Finest Papers
