love or stupid?

here is my take on Smeared and Smudge's very sketchy challengethis is an actual x-ray...well a copy of one...my mom works at the prison and this woman was trying to get in to visit her boyfriend...she didn't make it pass the metal detectors...duh! if you click on my image you can see it bigger and you can see the buttons on her jeans...I couldn't imagine how she was panning on getting this out without it going off!

I made the orange paper with acrylic paints, and stamped some hearts and flying hearts I got from CTMH, and I stamped my "not for the timid" stamp (from smeared Ink's carnies set) in paint.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges
HDH- Shot through the heart

Sad post, new challenge

this is a sad post for me...this is my last post as a DT member of Smeared Ink
I'll try not to get all sappy on you but I do want you to know that Smeared Ink is run by some amazing ladies and a great team! they have become my best friends over the past year...well more than a year...I have been threw so much with these girls...they were one of the first people to know I was pregnant and then they helped me threw my pregnancy, Tori was one of the first people I texted on the way to the hospital :) and now my lil one has all these aunts some across the states and her favorite dragon aunt in the UK! wow ok I didn't mean to ramble, and I'll cry if I say any more...I'll just tell you these ladies are amazing and I'm so proud to call them my friends!

ok onto the challenge and my card
this challenge is a sketch! and here is my creationI used what may be my fave SI set...not positive they are all my fave...but this one is right now;)
the set is called Quoth the Raven, and I took Mr Poe and stamped him 6 times and cut him out with my spellbinders and rotated it and put it on pop up dots, I cut my raven out and did the same with him. the background paper was textured grey so I went over it with my black ink pad and made it a little darker (it can never be to dark)
well there you have it folks!
here is the sketch
and I would like to enter this card into the following challenges
Quoth the Raven Nevermore-a creation in Poe's image

~EDIT
this card won top 3!!!

Lady V

I finally got around to making a card for the Kenny K challenge...I love their images and fully intend to play along each week but....life happens :)
this weeks challenge is "Get your bling on" so I used Lady Victoria and created thisI love it! I just love that look on her face! I colored her with pencils then made her hat and cape sparkly, I then made a flower out of my heart punch and made the middle out of stickles...the background paper I made with acrylic paints, the Beautiful stamp came from CTMH
I followed the sketch from sketches by carly...thanks for taking a look! have a great weekend!

Don't dream it...be it

ok this is my last RHPS card....for now :)

this one is using Becki from Saturated Canaries...another new image of mine...I just found this company and I already have the biggest wish list...I just love these images!I made the senit (a phrase I love) a quote from the movie, I colored my girl with pencils then smudged the colors around with a nib and some paint thinner. then I stuck her on some paper that I made with acrylic paints, used a border punch, threaded some ribbon, tied a bow, added some lil dried flowers...and there I have it....I love this card...I was going to give it away but I think I'll keep it in my craft room!
at the Saturated Canaries challenge blog the challenge is die cuts/punches...so I thought I'd enter this card there, as well as Forever Night Challenges...last one I swear...I can only enter 3 times:)

HDH RHPS

this week I got my HDH (get lost) project done on time...(unlike last weeks...5 min late)
today I'm sharing with you another RHPS creation...
I love how this turned out...I printed out the castle, sign, and quote, then I took my phone book and cut the map out of the front page, I glimmer misted one of my tattered angels screens...the one that kinda looks like a compass, then I threw some red and black paint at the paper, stuck some black mesh to it, and glued on my images....my Brad and Janet are brand new as of today from the Octopode Factory! I colored them with pencils and glued them on top again I did a RHPS theme because its on my mind due to the challenge at Forever Night ChallengesLink

RHPS Obsession

I created this card for the Forever Night Challenge which is RHPS inspired :)
if you know me you know I love this movie...well duh my blog title...anyways so I created this using an image from Ike's Art called "she man"
I made the senti (yes I have the RHPS font on my computer) I colored him with pencils then added glitter, and threw on some more bling and there I have...thats right a Valentines card! ha ha I love my sense of humor!
thanks for stopping by...off to make something else RHPS related :)

Smudgy Antics challenge

today is the start of a new challenge at Smudgy Antics...
this week's challenge is Tall Dark and Gruesome
I immediately thought of this guy

I colored his eyes red and put some black around them, then I colored the snake and added stickles and red to his eyes as well...the dark paper is some that I tried to make look like snake skin, I took some paper towel and inked it up and put some UTEE on it to make it shiny....I like how it turned out....be sure to stop by Smudgy Antics to see the other DT creations and enter the challenge for yourself!

Freak Show calendar

I bought this pocket calendar with the intentions of altering it and I finally got around to doing it
I saw a challenge at Stampotique to create a pocket or purse calendar and so I just had to join.
(I was hoping to have it finished in time to join the HDH this week, but I'm exactly 5 min late:( oh well) I made the paper with shaving cream and acrylic paint (tutorial coming soon to Smeared and Smudged) I stamped my Freak show stamp from Smeared Ink's Cardies set, and bats and a border from CTMH...I colored Perl with my markers and added green stickles to her necklace and headband...

New goal: start projects way before their due date!

BFF Betty

I made this card the other day and I just love how it turned out!
this was the first time I have ever used white hair...well kinda bluish-white, and that is my first bow like that...and you will be seeing them more often I love them! I used my everyday Teen scene simply Betty stamp and I think this may be one of my faves! the "best friends" stamp came from CTMH...I was sure to use a Betty so I could enter it into the Simply Betty challenge.
I also followed the sketch from Critter Sketches this week.

Edit: I'm so sorry I forgot to mention where my coloring inspiration came from...on the Simply Betty DT there is so much inspiration...I have a huge folder on my desktop of coloring ideas, and this one came from Lelia...her blog is full of inspiration, be sure to take a look...again I'm sorry Lelia I wasn't meaning to just steal ideas and run, I fully intended on giving you credit!

Baby Shower!!!

I have a baby shower to run to but I wanted to share some cards I made and some decorations I madeMy sister's shower is today and I made these two lil bassinets out of diapers to go on either side of the diaper cake my mom is making....super cute huh? they were easy too...well would have been if I used bigger diapers...if you going to try it...don't use newborn diapers:)

the two cards are for my sis and my half sis...they are due only days apart...I think one is feb 10 and the other the 12....I used my "growing love" stamp from Sweet Pea stamps, and I colored her with my pencils then took my nib and blended the colors...I added some dimensional fabric paint to the dots in their hair, and added some glitter to their tails....the quotes say "A moment in my tummy...forever in my heart" and "to the world you may be one person...but to one person you may be the world"enjoy off to the shower I go

today is the beginning of another challenge over at Smudgy Antics

I masked my Raven and stamped the words to the poem in grey ink, and I stamped the other words in black, I used some more of that black tissue paper and used the fence looking stamp and made a strip to kinda look like ribbon..
I followed the sketch for Sweet Sketch Wednesday and I was sure to use the raven so I could enter it into the "Raven" challenge at the new Quoth the Raven, Nevermore challenge blog...

I missed last months so I was so excited to join this month! I had a blast creating my project!
the theme this month is "Mesh it" and here is my project

I guess its a wall hanging...the base is cardboard (a really cool painted piece I got from my Secret Santa..thanks) the cardboard has white, gold and yellow on it, then I colored my Accordion player from the Carnies set (this is my first time using her...this is one of my new SI sets) ...I colored her with markers and then I added some black mesh I got from my mother in law...it was Halloween decorations...curtains I think... then I dropped handfuls of buttons in the corners and put Elmer's (PVA) glue on them to hold them in place, added some home made spirals and my senti from Ginger's house and there I have a super rad project!

here is the rest of the girls be sure to leave lots of love!

Smudgy Antics Challenge

today is the beginning of another challenge at the Smudgy Antics blog
the challenge this week is Recycle Something
so I recycled a parmesan cheese jar, and made it into a toy for my lil one

I stamped out all my grumpies on shrinky dink paper with stazon ink, then shrunk them and threw them in this jar with different kinds of glitter, and some silver and blue beads from a necklace, and some purple stuff I got on a Christmas present (thanks BD) I then filled it with water and some glycerin, I then hot glued the lid (so it wont come open and make a big mess) and there I have a snow globe shaker toy thing.

not sure if I made it for the lil one or the hubs and me:)

Bad Example

I'm so excited that HDH has started back up again with their challenges I just love the DT and all the wickedness that goes on there!!! so I created a project for their "got goth" challenge.

Isn't she rad?!? she is one of the Goth Fairies from Smeared Ink...and she is brand new to me, I got the whole set so stay tuned to see more:) I colored her with my pencils then took my nib thing and dipped it in paint thinner to get the colors to blend a little better. the black paper is tissue paper glued to card stock...it made a cool texture, the skull paper is a gift bag (I have made other projects with these) and the green and black swirly paper is some other home made stuff...the quote came from Ginger's House (lots of awesome word art!) oh and I liquid glassed her wings....I think thats it...

Smudgy Antics Christmas challenge

This week at Smudgy Antics the challenge will run for two weeks due to Christmas
the challenge will be Wicked Christmas

and here is another tag that I made, using that same ty-dye paper inspired by this month's Rock n Rolla challenge at Smeared and Smudged.
this tag is for my lil brother, I used the freebie image from last month's round of challenges at Smeared and Smudged. Then I splattered it with black paint, I colored the Santa hat black, and added some snow paint to give it more dimension, and I don't know if you can tell from the photo but I burned the green ribbon to kinda give it more character.
I hope you'll join us this week, you have plenty of time to enter.

If I don't post before Christmas, I hope you all have a Merry one...
I'm so excited for Millie's first Christmas, she just received a new Christmas dress from her Auntie BD and she is super cute in it!

RHPS tag

there is still time...very little but time to enter the challenge at Smudgy Antics this week.
the challenge is to be inspired by a movie, poem, or book....and I couldn't let a challenge like this go without sponsoring my all time fave movie!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show! (image on sidebar)
I created this tag, that is going on my mom's Christmas present...

the Frank n Ferter image came from Ike! the snow globe came from Crafty Ann's via the CDAC freebie challenge, the senti is an altered phrase from the movie. I made the ty-dye background paper that I got inspiration from the rock n rolla video for this month on smeared and smudged (I'll have a tutorial soon for how I made it) but the fishnet stamp is from Smeared Ink's Urban Decay stamp set...

Smeared Ink Steampunk

Smeared Ink's new release blog hop
today we are showing you some of the new images available in the Smeared Ink store just in time for Christmas!

I have posted the DT blogs below this post so you can hop along and see what we have, but you may have noticed that Smeared and Smudged is also doing a 12 Days of Christmas hop, so some of these will coincide with that...so much fab inspiration for you to look at where to begin?!?!?

since your here I might as well tell you about my fabby project

here I have the new Steampunk Elf.

I used my clock mask and inked up my background then splashed some water on it to give it more of a grunge look, then I stamped "time of your life" across the top, and stamped my Happy Holiday stamp and added green stickles to the box next to "Christmas"
I colored my elf with pencils as well as his bat, cat and pressies...but with them I added liquid glass to kinda give the appearance of a shiny metal...and I think thats it...ok onto the rest of the DT members so you can see what they have for ya!

Dear Heart / GIVEAWAY

Today is the beginning of another challenge week at the Smudgy Antics blog
and you'll defiantly want to check it out, there have been some updates...

the challenge this week is called "Dear Heart"
and here is my creationI used the "just-one" grumpie and made him all digital and awesome! I used the sketch from My time made easy
be sure to enter this challenge for yourself and invite your friends to do the same!

now onto my news...as you may have noticed I have been doing allot of digital projects lately...the reason for this is because I won a giveaway and my prize was MyMemories Suite Software!!!! I saw that Terra and Sugar also had this software and I hope they are loving it like me...this is how I have been making my digital cards lately, there are so many tutorials it made it super easy to get started...and the fact that I can export them to jpeg files and share them with my family...and you guys...its just awesome! I already have some baby announcements made, and I'm planning on making my Christmas cards this way too, before I received this software I was just going to take my baby pics to Walmart and have them do it...but I like this so much better! its so much more personal, and with all the free digital papers and kits that are out there it makes it that much easier (yes the majority of my digital papers were free, I think the only ones I bought are from Susan's Crafty Chaos) I also just found out that you can add video and sound to your projects...this will be great when making those baby scrapbook pages to send to grandma, and have a lil video of her cooing or her first steps...oh I'm so excited!

I was given two of these softwares, one for me and one to give away. All you have to do is -become a follower of one of these three sites:

Twitter

-and visit MyMemories.com and tell me your fave paper pack
-I'll pick a winner in one week...11/21/11

if by chance you don't win, or you can't wait you can copy and paste this code (anytime) and receive a $10 discount (feel free to share this code with your friends)
STMMMS55038
good luck!
